Dark moods is born of a long-time fascination with the weather, watching the movement of cloud and light on the mountains. This series focuses on the power of stormy times, whether just before, during or after the snow and rain. Watching the clouds envelope the mountain, waiting for the light to break through and feeling the tension in the air speaks to my own emotions, and it is when I am standing watching the weather that I feel the immensity of the world and all its possibilities stretching before me. Contemporary landscape photography for me seems to be missing the opportunity to remind us just how powerful and awe-inspiring the natural world can be. My photos are taken from a perspective of a small creature standing in wonder of the immensity of life, of which she is just a tiny part but a part all the same.
